It feels so good to be called "VOLUNTEER". According to our Parish Vicar, Fr. Coco, it's like carrying the "Cross of Christ". You do something out of LOVE, not out of any other reasons. Ate Shiela, the speaker even said that it is the "REAL WORK". Work in which you are not paid with material things.
When Fr. Coco said that "Cross of Christ" during Masses last Lenten Season, I asked myself. When did I last carry the Cross of Christ. Then, I couldn't answer. Now, I realized that being called a "volunteer" has a weird feeling. It's like you are paid a billion bucks for every work you do. I know I'm weird, but it's really true!
Yesterday, I told my mom that I want to be an Opus Dei. I thought she would allow me, but she didn't! I wanted to cry. I wanted to be an Opus Dei. She doesn't want me to go to Tahilan even just on Fridays. Guess what her reason was. She thought that I would become an unmarried woman until I become old. But she doesn't understand. I hate her right now. Her birthday is tomorrow but I really hate her. She's so judgemental that I was just asking if I could be an Opus Dei then she immediately said "NO". How stupid. Sorry if I'm talking this way. I'm really feeling bad.
At least, if I belong to the Opus Dei, I can get friends there, REAL Friends like Nicole and Reg and the rest of the volunteers. And when I go to the center, at least my parents know that I am in good hands and I'm in the right path. I really can't understand my mom on why she has to disagree on my plan on being an Opus Dei. Nothing's wrong with it. I'm not gonna be a numerary yet. I won't be celibated yet.
I really feel that Ate Steph is very lucky. She's the only child and yet her parents allow her to be an Opus Dei and they even agree on Ateteph being a numerary. Numeraries are those people in the Opus Dei who dedicate their life to God, therefore they become celibated. Does my mom know the feeling of being celibated? She doesn't know that being celibated is being married to Our Lord. It's not about being unmarried. I hate her. I hate her.
When I went to the summer camp, my mom didn't know that my temper lenghtened and I stoped using bad words. It's a very great benefit for me. She's being so judgemental. I hate her.
She doesn't know that being an Opus Dei will give me satisfaction to my life. I swear myself, I will still go to Tahilan on Fridays even if it means lying. I'll go there instead of going to Robinson's Place. I'll just go to onfession and ask the priest if it will be bad if I would lie for the reason of being an Opus Dei.
Once I go to college, I will really go to Tanglaw if I enter UP, and Tahilan if I enter La Salle. Even if it means lying. (Hint: White Lies) I'll tell my mom that I will go to the Library or to the mall, then go to the Center instead. Harhar!
I guess I have to ask my dad first, at least my dad can understand me and he will first ask me what Opus Dei is, unlike my mom who doesn't know yet what Opus Dei is then immediately says "NO". Dad's not as judgemental as my Mom.
I'll join the Summer Camp again next year. Even if my mom doesn't approve of it, I'll ask my dad. I will, I will, I will!!!

The Activities
Friday I went to Tahilan at about 4:00pm. We had merienda with Ate Sarah, Reg, Nicole and Ate Badette. We arranged the kits of the children in the living room when Ate Steph came then Miss Selica had a talk about Love for the Home. We went to the grocery for some things Ate Sarah said that we lack, with Reg, Nicole and Ate Badette. We went back to Tahilan and had a chat then Ate Joan came. We had dinner and then we went to the oratory to pray. We also went to the living room for introductions about ourselves and Miss Shiela had a talk about a part of her life as a volunteer. We got our things and placed it in our rooms. Miss Sarah said that the mass would be at 6:20 am. We took a shower first then I set my phone’s alaram to 5:45 and then slept, but I can’t sleep because I have no pillow to hug, aww…
Saturday I didn’t hear my phone alarm. Guess why. It was in silent mode!! How stupid of me! I hurriedly took a shower, unfortunately, mass was reset to 6:10 then the three of us had no choice but not to attend the mass. We just had a chat at the living room and had a simple breakfast, it was the time when Ate Marijo came. We left for Batangas then we arrived after 2 hrs and 20 mins. We first had our bags placed in our rooms and had merienda. There was a talk about house rules by Teacher Badette then the volunteers except Ate Steph was at the Library to discuss the other activities, while Ate Steph was discussing the Love for the Home. The kids also had a hands-on by cleaning the school… hehehe! After that, we had lunch, brushed our teeth while the other kids were washing the dishes. I was assigned for the making of earrings, and Reg for the tie-dye. The children had their on white shirts while the volunteers had no choice but the blue summer camp shirt. So it was difficult to find the right color. We were all very tired and had merienda, again. While Reg and Nicole were discussing the Our Lady of Fatima, the rest of the volunteers were at the oratory for prayer. We were about to go to the Marian Orchard for our Way of the Cross but our group, Ate Sarah, Reg, Ate Steph, Nicole, Charmaine and Miss Rona first went to the market, and I also managed to go to the Taal lake!!! I was very jubilant! The water was warm in the shore and Miss Rona said that the only fish you can find in Taal Lake is Tawilis and Tawilis is only found in Taal Lake! Wow! That was great. We went to the Marian Orchard and half of my dream came true, there were soooooooooooooooooooooooo oo many flowers. Very very very very very many! Unfortunately I have no camera so only half of my dream came true. It was really like a dream. We had our pictures taken and then went to the Stations of the Cross, it was really in the mountains and we were like hiking. There was no cement and it was real sacrifice. Unfortunately, we were only in the 6th station when rain started to pour. We skipped all of the stations left then went to the statue of Our Lady, where Ate Marijo discussed the Station of the Cross. We went back to the school and I cleansed myself. It was really tiring. We had dinner and then while the children were discussing something with ate Joan, we prepared the hotdogs for the grilling. It was challenging because the kids had to sing before they get hotdogs. 3 of them didn’t eat anything because they were afraid to sing. I ate 3 hotdogs, 1 grilled banana (saba) and uncountable toasted mallows that it felt like breakfast. Miss Sarah was really losing temper because the children were always shouting and running because they were afraid of ghosts though they haven’t seen any. We had shower, alarmed my phone to 5:45 checking if it was in loud mode then slept. Good thing I had a pillow to hug so slept easily.
Sunday My phone alarmed but I was too sleepy to take a bath so I just changed my clothes then we went to the church, Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje. We were standing like hell and there was a wedding so it took so long. We arrived at the school and had breakfast. We also went to the piggery where the children bathed the pigs, to the vegetable garden where I got a small wound because of touching mimosas. I also discovered that they use the smell of the pigs to generate BioGas! It was really environment friendly that they use it for cooking the food!!! WOW!!! We also got casuy fruits and then we cleansed ourselves. I also had a chat with Johara. She was somehow lucky that her parents are very supportive though her father is only a driver and her mom is jobless. She studies in Araullo High School, an incoming 2nd yr. but she was really short and thin that she looks like 10 or 11 years old! She was also flunking when she was in first year but not because she slacks off. Her dad lost his job so she had no choice but to absent herself from school. Aww, but she was still a lucky girl that she has no problem with her family and friends. We had lunch after the chat and then we packed our things. We were about to leave and we got our tie-dyed shirts and had pictures taken. We also hopped to three houses of some alumnae of Balete Family Farm School. We also went to the Bee Farm. Then we went back to Manila. Nicole was dropped by the gas station in Alabang while the rest went back to Tahilan. I took the LRT with Ate Badette and she got off at Blumentritt so off I went back home.
Analysis
On the Kids Genalyn was the naughtiest and she was the least fine in dining. Mary Rose was the oldest and she doesn’t dress modestly. She dressed in a mini and a camisole when we went back to Manila, which is very against the principles of the Center. Charmaine was shy at first but she managed to combat it when we grilled hotdogs, she was my favorite, I think. Lovely was annoying because she wanted to get my enamel pendants, which I really loved, so I lied by saying that it was a gift and she also tickles me much, so I stay away from her. I guess I have to go to confession. Gosh. While Danica, with Lovely would always grab my arms, which I get irritated at, but I don’t show it, because they might get disappointed. I think that Abigail was pretty and “biba” but she has to lengthen her temper… like me! :D
On the Co-Volunteers I love them all! I swear. We all had different personalities!
On the Experience It was really great experience and I will really join next year. I am also thinking of being an OPUS DEI. Wow.
Words I Learned Opus Dei Numerary Asst. Numerary Super Numerary Oratory
I haven't updated for so long, my brother and I got into a terrible fight and my mom grabbed the power cord, of course, my brother can't live without the computer... while me? i'm doing productive thingies... 8)
I also can't post because I can't register here at tblog because of my password, it's very complicated but it's sorted out.
Here are the recent and about-to-happen happenings:
Release of Form 138 or Report Cards - I'm pretty proud of my grades, they all went up except Social Studies and ComSci. I got a really low score in Social Studies and I don't have to explain why I got an 87. In Physics, T'was the first time I got a 90. Probably because I got an 83/100 in the year-end exam, without studying a bit! Woohoo!
Random Sectioning, anyone? - who doesn't know about it? I'm now belonging to 4-Franklin with Maan, Roddel, Melissa, Edgar, Frances, Jeremy/Jeremie (i forgot how to spell it), Jolaz, Arian Batac and Astrid... theyr'e all I know... I'm pretty happy for the random sectioning except that Lee, Ace and Topher, my best buds, are all in Einstein, that sucks...
I went to Tahilan Residence and Study Center near St. Scholastica - I learned 2 dishes, the Risoto and Chicken something, i forgot. I also attended a Benediction and Meditation. Teehee! I also met Ate Sarah, the moderator for the summer camp below, and Carmina, a student from St. Scholastica who is going too!
I'm about to go to Batangas for 3 long days! - It's actually an outreach program with 12 kids, 2 adults, 4 college students and 4 high school students! Wow! Friday to Sunday! Making tie-dye shirts, earring and many others seems fun!
I'm having a Livelihood Summer Workshop - I'm cleaning my room and our bathroom, as always, even during class days. But there are more tasks to come like cleaning windows, cleaning the dining table, and our helper will be going back to her province for about 2 weeks and I have to do the laundry like, every other day! Anyway, I've been doing that when I was nine years old and I got paid 50 pesos per week, that's 3 laudry sessions for 50 pesos! But, mom has no moolah now, she can't pay me, but she's giving me some money to stay alive the while summer.
Enrollment-cum-Bonding Sessions - Yesterday was the enrollment and I was about to play with Ace, Lee, Jon, and Emman but Ace had to leave because Jeremie was leaving too and Ace is staying at Jeremie's house for 3 days! Aww... so I ended up at Robinson's and eating at Greenwich with Jackie, Erielle and Gigay, then Dan came, then Edgar and Jonathan, then Maan, Roddel, Karen, Jobel, etc. I also went to Gbox with Dan to play my favorite shooting hoops. I played two times, equivalent to 28 bucks and I had some fun, though I hit my face with a ball, but I'm used to it anyway!
Cross-Stitch - I have done cross-stitch when I was 9 years old, but I gave up becasue I had no money to buy patterns, threads, and Aida cloth. Now, I'm doing Tweety. Ate Perla allowed me to borrow her patterns and I had it photocopied. I started doing it last night, now, I'm finished with Tweety's feet. Who knows I could give my Mom and Dad a really good one and have it framed?
I'm going to Tahilan again - This time, it's an orientation-cum-meeting with the other volunteers!
I'm trying to go to Novena regularly, even just on summer - I'm going to Church every Wednesday night to have Novena for the Mother of Perpetual Help. Mom taught that to me!
Dan knows who my crush is - I never knew that Djoskarl has been making GOSSIPS about me and my crush(es). Of course, it isn't true, Dan even said that it was insecurity. Huh? Djoskarl said that I was crushing on Anthony (eww!), Jonathan(huh?!) and Dan(duh?!). Of course it isn't true, like duh! Dan knows who my real crush is, but it isn't one of them... I was about to tell it to Jackie, but I got separated with the gang so I wasn't able to... Of course, Edgar also knows who it is...
I'm gonna be a LOLA again - My 22-year old nephew just got his girlfriend pregnant before he graduates college. The stork will be delivered on September, and he will graduate on October. Yikes!
I'm about to study - I will try to study(for the UPCAT), my dad gave me a module. I'm not wasting precious money, nor be fooled by review centers. I'm just being practical. ;P
OMG... i'm using this Linux Operating System right now. It's the same computer but my brother uses this CD to use Linux. It's kinda complicated... but it's cool to learn another OS... Our computer, of course, got Microsoft, but it has a STUPID VIRUS right now!!! and my brother doesn't know what virus corrupted it so our whole C: drive has to be formatted... again! The C: drive actually contains ALL our programs, not the files... :x
Right now, I, rather We can't play GunBound or Tantra... all I can do is wait, wait, wait and wait. Good thing my brother is a computer-semi-pro.
Anyway, I just want to share this thing of me about being semi-OC... I mean, I'm semi-obsessive-compulsive . I am a fan of plastic organizers, shoe boxes with pretty gift wrappers, drawers and everything organized. Last weekend, Ate Marie gave me those pretty punches, like Jomar's. It was late night and I was ultra-tired so I just arranged it the next morning, I arranged it and it made me happy... as in very jubilant! Then, me, being ultra-clumsy, left it in my study chair unsnapped, so it is opened... then I sat on the chair, then I knocked it off!!! OMG! the pearls were the most terrible... I almost cursed myself for being so stupid! It took me less than an hour to fix it again! It was really terrible, I almost gave up. It was very difficult to arrange it, really!!! Anyway, going back to being semi-OC... I also arrange all my perfumes, lotions and topical medicines in those pink racks... hahaha! But I NEVER use the lotions, seldom use the perfumes and not always apply the topical medicines... hahaha!! I'm a bad girl! I also arrange my accessories in a pink Hello Kitty mini-drawer... I also surprisingly arrange my clothes, BY COLOR. Actually, I'm a big fan of tees, so all my tees are arranged my color, green, pink, red, black, white, blue, yellow and orange. I also arranged the "hanged ones" according to jeans, uniform, my 4 blouses, 3 skirts, my pink cocktail dress, my prom dress, and my mom's clothes, you know, she has too many clothes that it doesn't fit in her two closets... hah! Anyway, That's me... SEMI-OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE .
I gotta share you about Tanglaw University Center... the place where Ate Marie gave me the punches! It's cool! Really Cool! Maybe next time... Hahaha!!!
Hmm, when Dan and Djoskarl started doing their thing(should I call it fling?), both of them lost their time for something important - FRIENDS. I don't actually think that they lost time for Friends only, but I think that they lost time for everything. All their time is devoted to each other. Both of them are my close friends, I am indeed happy that they were able to know what theyr'e feeling for each other and doing their fling thing. But not happy that they lost time for friends. I am not against their fling thing but I'm against their poor time management. Good thing, Topher's there, my only close buddy left. I hope that doesn't happen to him too.
Now, I lost a companion to the Ladies' Room, good thing, Weena's there. And I also don't have a companion in walking to the stairs of the LRT. *cries*
I've told it to them, but they, probably, weren't listening, or their attention is not on what I'm saying.
Djoskarl, good thing you still have a very little time with Janica. Dan, don't wait for the time to lose more friends, Gigay, Yssa, Paulo, Roddel, Lyndon and Anthony.
Good luck on "Love" and Time Management.
Congratulations and Jubilations, Enrico, Lyndon and Carlo! Good Job!
Is Enrico not yet tired of hearing all those "Congratulations!" after every contests and achievements?
